Abstract
In Cassytha filiformis L. the enzyme cytochrome oxidase activity was more pronounced at the tip of young haustorium, hence restricted to the terminal region and margin of the endophyte, but in mature condition it accumulated more in the vascular core. In young haustorium of Santalum album L., the cytochrome oxidase activity was very less but it was more pronounced in mature haustorium at the region of parasite contact with the host and also in the vascular core. The sites of this enzyme activity appeared bluish-green in colour
