  • Abstract:
  • Breast cancer remains a significant global health concern, with conventional treatments often posing challenges due to their side effects and limited efficacy. In recent years, there has been growing interest in complementary and alternative medicine approaches, including Ayurveda, for the management of breast cancer. This abstract explores the principles and modalities of Ayurvedic management in breast cancer. Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine originating from India, offers a holistic approach that considers the individual's constitution, disease pathology, and overall well-being. Ayurvedic interventions for breast cancer management encompass a combination of herbal remedies, dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, detoxification therapies, and mind-body practices. Herbs such as turmeric, ashwagandha, and guggulu have shown promising anti-cancer properties and immunomodulatory effects in preclinical and clinical studies.Furthermore, Ayurvedic treatments focus on restoring balance to the doshas, particularly Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and addressing underlying imbalances in the body's energy systems. Panchakarma therapies, including detoxification and rejuvenation treatments, aim to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins and strengthen the immune system.Additionally, Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of psychological and emotional well-being in cancer management. Practices such as meditation, yoga, and pranayama help reduce stress, enhance resilience, and improve overall quality of life for individuals undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Overall, Ayurveda offers a comprehensive and integrative approach to breast cancer management, complementing conventional treatments and addressing the holistic needs of patients. Further research and clinical trials are warranted to validate the efficacy and safety of Ayurvedic interventions in breast cancer care and to integrate them into mainstream oncology practice
