  • Abstract:
  • This study explores YSZ ceramic coatings on IS 2062 steel via the TIG cladding process at currents from 120A to 200A. Higher currents increase composite layer depth due to enhanced heat transfer. Microstructural analysis shows variations in grain size and dendritic formations with current changes. Coating powder distribution impacts morphology and microstructure. Hardness testing reveals improved hardness in coated substrates, peaking at 120A. Wear rate analysis indicates enhanced wear resistance across currents, with 120A showing the highest resistance, suggesting an optimal processing parameter for durability.
