  • Abstract:
  • Cerium tartrate crystals were grown from sodium metasilicate gel and water solutions of tartaric acid and cerium chloride as the reactants. Crystals grown were spherulitic in size. X-ray diffractometry, EDAX, SEM Studies were carried out on Gel Grown Cerium Tartrate Crystals. X-ray studies reveal the crystallinity of Ce2(C4H4O6)3.6H2O. Grown crystals exhibit varied morphology such as spiky spherulites, multi-arm dendrites and rectangular platelets. Qualitative elemental analysis (EDAX) shows presence of Ce.
