  • Abstract:
  • This study aims to understand customer attitudes towards organic clothes and retailers, and identify possible opportunities for young entrepreneurs. Here, we attempted to assess the present condition of consumer awareness and understanding in India. Design/methodology/approach: The study was carried out utilizing a personal survey, in which individuals with interest were approached and asked to fill out a Likert-based questionnaire. The questionnaire was specifically developed to extract customers' purchasing patterns and opinions on organic clothing. Consumers were offered open-ended questions on their agreements and disputes. Reliability tests were performed to ensure the internal consistency of measuring items, and Cronbach's alpha was computed to demonstrate a strong correlation between the items. This is basic research done regarding consumer’s awareness, concern and purchase behaviour towards green apparel. Findings: This is just basic research done regarding consumer’s attitude and awareness towards organic clothing. The apparel brands also find taking up a social responsibility to create awareness and encourage consumers to buy eco- friendly products. The responses to the survey were analysed using Demographic Analysis of Respondents, Reliability tests and Correlation Analysis to examine potential outcomes that contribute to a better understanding of consumer knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, and readiness to purchase and wear organic apparel.
