  • Abstract:
  • Human well-being is an essential right that is primarily dependent on the hinge of health, which has been recognized not just by the Indian government but also internationally. Even the World Bank sees health as one of the sectors in which the public sector plays a significant role because, while market forces prevail in all other sectors, health is one where market failure exists. Also, if we look at each county's yearly budget, the resources for promoting health are given the greatest priority. India has a rich tradition in medical and health sciences dating back to antiquity. When we look back in time, we can see that the Atharva Veda, one of the four vedas, contains various references to health and illness. According to a line in Caraka Samitha, physicians owe their loyalty to the Atharav Veda (Prasad, 2016).
