  • Abstract:
  • In recent decades, multiculturalism has been a central feature of many liberal democracies, promoting the recognition and inclusion of diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious groups. However, it has also sparked intense debates concerning national identity, social cohesion, and individual versus group rights. This article explores these challenges within liberal democratic frameworks, focusing on the balance between accommodating cultural diversity and upholding liberal values. Through case studies of Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom, this research highlights both the successes and the challenges of multicultural policies, addressing key issues such as social integration, identity politics, and the rise of populism.
