  • Abstract:
  • Background and Purpose: In low- and middle-income nations, low back pain (LBP) has risen by more than 50% since 1990. In India, back and neck pain is ranked as the second leading cause of years lived with disability. The purpose of the study is to find the effect of muscle energy technique on pain among mechanical low back pain subjects. Materials and Methods: 40 mechanical low back pain subjects of age from 20 to 30 of both sex were selected for the study. All the selected mechanical low back pain subjects were treated with muscle energy technique for two weeks, two session per week. Mechanical low back pain was measured zero level and at the end of two weeks by visual analogue scale. Data Analysis & Results: The calculated paired ‘t’ value 16.16 for mechanical low back pain is significant at 0.005 level. Conclusion: Mechanical low back pain is significantly reduced following four sessions of muscle energy technique in two weeks in mechanical low back pain subjects.
