A Cross -Sectional study to assess the Emotional Intelligence among adolescent girls studying in Selected Private Institutions of Distt. Ṣirmour, Himachal Pradesh.

  • Emotional Intelligence refers to the ability to identify and manage one’s own as well as the emotions of others. The main component of emotional intelligence is self-awareness, assertiveness, empathy, interpersonal relationship, stress tolerance. The present study was selected to assess Emotional Intelligence among adolescent girls studying in selected Private institutions of Distt. Sirmour (H.P). A Quantitative approach and non- experimental descriptive cross-sectional research study was selected to conduct the study among 157 adolescent girls selected through simple random sampling technique studying in selected Private Institutions of Distt, Sirmour, H.P. Data was collected using standardized questionnaires related to Emotional Intelligence. Descriptive and inferential statistics was analyzed by using SPSS. The study results revealed that majority 60.5% of the adolescent girls had medium level of Emotional Intelligence followed by 29.3% of them had high level of emotional intelligence and only 10.2% them had low level of emotional intelligence respectively. There was significant association of Emotional Intelligence with religion of adolescent girls as p value <0.05level of significance.
