  • Abstract:
  • Analysis of E shaped micro strip antennas with the concept of shorting pins is presented. E shape is taken because it is simplest antenna having slots for analysis. Three different antenna patches are designed with and without shorting pins and are analyzed. Three antennas are taken to study shorting pin impact with respect to the antenna feed location. The antennas operate in the Ku band. The dielectric substrate has a thickness of 1.5 mm and the material used is Rogers RT duroid 5880 with a dielectric constant of 2.2. All the antennas showed good return loss performance of less than -10 dB, the gain is more than 3 dB and the bandwidth performance is also good.
