An Optimization Technique in Lubrication to Minimize Friction Loss in Machines

  • In Industries, the machine runs continuously for a long time which causes the machine to heat due to friction, causing the machine to rupture and lead to wear and tear. This problem can be overcome by using Automatic grease lubrication system by using PIC microcontroller. The core idea behind this project is to introduce latest advancement in timers. Initially the timer calculates the running time of the machines, once the timer reaches its preset value the microcontroller sends the signal to the motor driver which intern drives the pump to apply grease to the machines from the grease tank. A digital display is used to display the running time of the machine and an alarm is produced when there is a demand of grease in grease tank. Thus, the friction loss of the machines is reduced and the man power is minimized.
