In this paper, we proposed to integrate the solar power system on a Very Large crude carrier (VLCC) and its synchronization with main bus bar for enhancing the efficiency and since the solar power is available to supply power to the most important loads, the complete blackout condition can be avoided in the ship. The synchronization of the solar with the main bus bar is achieved by using a new technique called “Field Programmable Gate Array†(FPGA) which is heart of proposed technique. The FPGA generates pulse width modulation which controls the inverter of the main bus bar and the solar inverter, so that all the parameters of the synchronization are obtained. It was done by the Xilinx software and Spartan6 Controller which is a family of FPGA controller.}, keywords = {VLCC, Spartan6, FPGA, Xilinx, ZCD}, month = {}, }
