FORMUATION & EVALUATION OF ETHAMBUTOL NANOPARTICLE

  • Objective: Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which usually affects the lungs. Tuberculosis is the deadliest infectious disease in the world. The main objective of this study is to develop a drug delivery system that uses polymer nanoparticles to maintain the release of ethambutol (ETB) while reducing the dosing frequency. Methods: A preformulation study of ETB drugs was conducted based on physical characteristics. Determination and estimation of melting point by UV spectrophotometry. ETB loaded nanoparticles were prepared by double emulsion (W/O/W) diffusion technique provided by particle size, dispersion index, zeta potential, drug polymer compatibility study, in vitro release and drug release kinetics.
