  • Abstract:
  • Hair transplantation is a rapidly evolving field, offering hope to millions of individuals suffering from hair loss. This comprehensive review aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the current state of hair transplantation, including its history, techniques, outcomes, and potential complications. We delve into the various methods and approaches used in hair transplantation, such as strip harvesting, follicular unit extraction, and direct hair implantation, and discuss the latest advances in the field, including: Robotic-assisted transplantation, Platelet-rich plasma therapy,Low-level laser therapy, Hair follicle cloning and multiplication .We also examine patient satisfaction and outcomes, including hair density, growth rates, and aesthetic results, and explore the factors influencing these outcomes, such as patient age, hair type, and donor site availability. Additionally, we discuss the potential complications and risks associated with hair transplantation, including scarring, infection, and unnatural growth patterns. Furthermore, we explore the future directions of hair transplantation, including:Stem cell therapy and its potential to revolutionize hair restoration,Gene editing and its applications in hair growth promotion,Tissue engineering and biomaterials for hair follicle generation This review aims to provide a thorough understanding of hair transplantation for clinicians, researchers, and patients considering the procedure, and highlights the exciting developments and innovations shaping the future of hair restoration.
