The Well-being of PhD Scholars in Social Sciences: A Systematic Review

  • This study attempts to enhance the understanding of the well-being of doctoral students in social sciences. This systematic review analyses the factors influencing PhD scholars’ well-being, the challenges encountered, and strategies to enhance well-being and academic success. The constituents of well-being identified from the literature are thematically deliberated for a nuanced understanding. By amalgamating recent empirical research and theoretical perspectives, this review aims to provide insights for academic institutions, supervisors, and policymakers to support social science doctoral students better.
