  • Abstract:
  • Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder caused by low thyroid hormone production. It presents significant health challenges worldwide. This hormonal imbalance can result in various physical and mental issues, such as fatigue, weight gain, depression, problems with thinking, and heart issues. Standard treatment mainly involves hormone replacement therapy. While this is effective in many cases, it may not address the wider psychological aspects of the disorder or ensure overall well-being. Recently, there has been increasing interest in complementary and alternative health practices to support standard treatments. Yoga, an ancient system from India, has gained recognition for its potential to influence hormone function, reduce stress, and restore balance in the body. Through physical poses, breathing exercises, meditation, and lifestyle changes, integrated yoga therapy offers a promising non-drug approach for regulating hormones. This study aims to investigate the effects of an integrated yoga therapy program on hormone levels and endocrine function in individuals with hypothyroidism. By using a scientific approach, the research intends to look at how yoga works physiologically, its ability to support standard medical treatments, and its implications for preventive and therapeutic endocrinology.
