  • Abstract:
  • Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that is involved in many physiological functions of the human body, such as immunological function, bone health, calcium metabolism, and cell growth and differentiation. Although exposure to sunlight is the primary source, some foods and supplements can also provide it. Heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular illnesses (CVDs) may be at risk due to vitamin D deficiency (VDD). Low blood vitamin D levels have been associated with a higher risk of CVD development. It is unclear, nevertheless, if vitamin D levels are the primary cause or effect of these disorders. More study is needed to fully understand the relationship between vitamin D and cardiovascular health, even though some studies suggest that taking vitamin D supplements may lower the risk of CVD. Our goal in this study was to compile the data that is now available to support the link between vitamin D and cardiovascular diseases and anesthetic considerations.
