  • Abstract:
  • This research paper examines the profound impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the originality of student work in English literature analysis. As AI writing tools like ChatGPT and similar language models become increasingly accessible to students, universities face unprecedented challenges in maintaining academic integrity and fostering genuine critical thinking. This paper synthesizes current research and empirical findings to explore how AI-assisted writing affects student creativity, analytical capability, and academic dishonesty. Through comprehensive literature review and thematic analysis, the paper identifies key concerns, institutional responses, and pedagogical innovations necessary to navigate this evolving landscape. The study concludes that while generative AI offers potential benefits for educational support, unregulated use poses significant threats to originality and authentic learning outcomes.
