  • Abstract:
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly advanced over the last few decades, becoming an integral part of various sectors, including higher education and academic research. Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines programmed to think and learn. In higher education, AI's transformative power is rapidly changing the landscape. From personalized learning experiences to automating administrative processes, AI has the potential to increase efficiency, improve student engagement, and facilitate groundbreaking research. However, the integration of AI in education also brings forth ethical concerns, data privacy issues, and resistance from some educators. AI’s applications in these fields range from personalized learning systems to data analysis and pattern recognition in research. This paper explores the role of AI in higher education, focusing on its potential to revolutionize student learning experiences and accelerate academic research. It highlights the benefits, challenges, and ethical considerations associated with the growing presence of AI in educational and research settings. Furthermore, this paper examines the ways AI is currently being used to enhance the quality of education and to drive innovation in research, while also discussing future trends and the evolving role of AI in academic environments.
