  • Abstract:
  • Menstruation is a normal physiological process experienced by girls during the adolescence period; however, inadequate knowledge, cultural taboos, and limited school-based instruction often result in poor menstruation awareness among secondary school students. Digital learning resources have the potential to address these gaps by providing accurate, engaging, and learner-centered information. In this study examined the effectiveness of E-content on menstruation awareness among secondary school students. Experimental method with a pre-test and post-test single group design was employed. The sample consisted of 102 secondary school students selected through simple random sampling technique. The investigator developed and validated an E-content on menstruation, covering the menstrual cycle, menstrual hygiene management, myths and misconceptions, premenstrual syndrome, and emotional changes during adolescence, in line with Comprehensive Sexuality Education Guidelines. Menstruation awareness test prepared and standardized by the investigator was used as the tool for data collection. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistical techniques were applied to analyze the data. The pre-test results indicated low awareness of menstruation among secondary school students. Following the E-content intervention, the post-test mean score for menstruation showed a significant increase, indicating improved and more consistent understanding. This demonstrates the effectiveness of E-content in enhancing menstruation awareness among secondary school students. The study concludes that E-content is an effective instructional strategy for enhancing menstruation awareness among secondary school students and recommends its integration into school-based health and comprehensive sexuality education programs
