3D Printer Building: Creating the Future Layer by Layer

  • Three-dimensional (3D) printing, also known as additive manufacturing, has emerged as a transformative technology in modern manufacturing by enabling the layer-by-layer fabrication of complex components directly from digital models. This project focuses on the design, development, and analysis of a low-cost 3D printer based on fused deposition modeling (FDM) technology. The system is designed to convert computer-aided design (CAD) files into physical objects by extruding thermoplastic material through a heated nozzle with precise motion control. The developed 3D printer demonstrates the capability to fabricate prototype parts with acceptable surface finish and dimensional accuracy at a significantly reduced cost compared to commercial systems.
