abstract = {Lozenges are a solid dosage form that is intended to slowly dissolve in the mouth for therapeutic effect. A small usually sweetened and flavored medicated material that is designed to be held in the mouth. This study was carried out to prepare and evaluate herbal lozenges for the relief of flu and common cold symptoms. Flu and cold are very common illnesses that cause sore throat, cough, nasal congestion, and mild fever. Many medicines are available for treatment, but long-term use may cause side effects. Herbal medicines are considered safer and have been used traditionally to treat respiratory problems. In this study, herbal ingredients such as ginger (Zingiber officinale), tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), and peppermint (Mentha piperita) were selected because they help reduce cough, throat irritation, and inflammation. The lozenges were prepared using sugar and other suitable ingredients to give proper shape, taste, and hardness. The prepared lozenges were tested for weight variation, hardness, thickness, friability, disintegration time, taste, and stability. The results showed that the herbal lozenges had good physical properties, a pleasant taste, and proper release of active ingredients. The study concludes that herbal lozenges can be a safe, effective, and convenient option for relieving flu and cold symptoms. Further studies can be done to confirm their effectiveness in patients.},
