        abstract = {“A Comparative Analysis of Maithili & Canadian Folk Song”, the objective of the article is to understand the mutual understanding of Maithili and Canadian culture. The study reveals that the Canadian indigenous (First Nation, Inuit, Me'ties) people and the people of Mithila may have had the same early cultural tradition. Over time, due to differences in the pace of development, there may have been differences in the external forms of cultural tendencies of both. Just as folk songs are sung on the occasion of various rituals in Mithila, similarly it is also sung in Canadian society. The only difference is that most of the folk songs of Canadian society are focused on nature, whereas in Mithila, there is a tradition of folk songs based on the diversity of Gods and goddesses, faith, karma, salvation etc. However, in conclusion it can be said that the roots of culture of human society all over the world must have been the same, although differences are visible in it due to differences in the pace of development over time. The historical background of both the understandings is easily known from the folk songs prevalent in Mithila and Canadian society.},
