  • The 4 C's and STEM approach in environmental education represents a transformative framework aimed at equipping learners with critical skills to address pressing ecological challenges. This approach emphasizes four essential competencies Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration integrated within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. By combining these elements, educators foster a holistic learning environment that not only enhances students' understanding of environmental issues but also prepares them for active participation in sustainability initiatives and informed decision-making in an increasingly complex world.[1][2][3]. Notably, the integration of the 4 C' s within the STEM framework is driven by the need for effective problem-solving skills that can navigate contemporary environmental crises. Research indicates that students engaged in this combined methodology demonstrate improved critical thinking and creativity, which are vital for addressing real-world ecological problems.
