EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF CEMENT BY COFFEE HUSK ASH

  • This study investigates the feasibility of using coffee husk ash (CHA) as a partial replacement for Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) in M25 grade concrete. Coffee husk ash, an agricultural waste with pozzolanic properties, was used at replacement levels of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% by weight of cement. Concrete specimens were prepared, cured for 7, 14, and 28 days, and tested for workability and compressive strength. The results showed that workability and compressive strength decreased with increasing CHA content. However, concrete containing 5–10% CHA exhibited satisfactory performance while reducing cement consumption and promoting sustainable waste utilization. The study concludes that coffee husk ash can be effectively used as an eco-friendly supplementary cementitious material in concrete.
