abstract = {India stands at a critical juncture in its development journey. With one of the world's youngest populations, the country possesses a tremendous demographic advantage. However, this demographic dividend can only translate into economic growth if young people are equipped with relevant skills and meaningful employment opportunities. While educational attainment has increased significantly, concerns regarding employability continue to persist. The gap between academic qualifications and industry requirements highlights the growing importance of skill education. Over the past decade, India has built a comprehensive skill development ecosystem through the Skill India Mission, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Sector Skill Councils, apprenticeship programmes, and vocational education reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This paper explores the evolution of India's skill ecosystem, the importance of creating awareness about skill development opportunities, the role of traditional and future skills, and the need for stronger industry integration to improve employability outcomes.},
