abstract = {Cancer is a major global health challenge characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation, resistance to apoptosis, local tissue invasion, and metastasis. Conventional cancer therapies, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, have significantly improved patient outcomes; however, their lack of specificity can cause damage to healthy tissues and various adverse effects. Biomedical nanotechnology has emerged as a promising approach for improving cancer diagnosis and therapy through the development of nanoscale drug delivery systems. Nano particles possess unique physicochemical properties, including a high surface area, tunable surface characteristics, improved drug solubility, and the ability to facilitate passive or active tumor targeting. This review provides an overview of cancer, including its pathophysiology, genetic mechanism, hallmarks, major types such as breast, lung, liver, blood cancer. The principles and applications of biomedical nanotechnology in targeted drug delivery, cancer detection, imaging, gene therapy, photothermal therapy, and magnetic hyperthermia are discussed.},
