Abstract
Active Database Management Systems (ADBMSs) have been created to help uses with detecting modifications in databases. This includes assistance for specifying active rules which monitor changes to information as well as rules that perform some management duties for the apps. Active rules can also be utilized for specifying constraints which should be met to keep the integrity of the information, for keeping long running transactions, and also for authorization control. This takes place with showing case studies on utilizing ADBMSs for monitoring and control. The aspects of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) as well as Telecommunication Net shave been studied as potential programs which can make use of active database technology. These case studies have served as demands on the performance which has later been created in an ADBMS. After an introduction to the area of active database devices it's exemplified how active rules may be used by the apps studied.
