  • Hassan district in Karnataka, India, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and natural beauty, making it an attractive destination for tourists. This study aims to explore the current state of the tourism industry in Hassan district, identifying opportunities, challenges, and sustainability concerns. Using a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods, this research investigates the tourism industry's economic, social, and environmental impacts. The study reveals that while tourism has contributed significantly to the local economy, it also poses challenges related to infrastructure, environmental degradation, and cultural preservation. The research provides recommendations for sustainable tourism development in Hassan district, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts among stakeholders, including the government, local communities, and tourism industry operators. This study contributes to the existing literature on sustainable tourism development and provides valuable insights for policymakers, tourism industry practitioners, and researchers.
