The experiment was conducted with 49 samples of 10mm diameter, 33mm length Hadfield steel for different Load and speed conditions. Experiments are conducted for Hadfield steel for fixed sliding distance of 10,000 meters. Samples were mounted in the collet of Pin on Disc equipment, where disc was rotating and pin is at rest. A track diameter of 100 mm was selected for the test. The different loads of 1, 2, 3.5, 4, 6,7and 8kg were applied and sliding speeds of 382, 573, 764, 955, 1146, 1337 and 1520 rpm were calculated on the basis of sliding distance. The experiment was conducted at room temperature as well as at elevated temperature of 300oC. Different time durations were calculated. For running of the pin the times calculated were 83.33, 55.55, 41.66, 33.33, 27.77, and 23.80 and 20.83 minutes, Amount of wear is observed by weight loss method, and also Frictional Force is noted continuously. Wear rate and volumetric wear rate are calculated. It was found that volumetric wear rate increases with increase in the load and with increase in the temperature.}, keywords = {Wear, Hadfield steel, Frictional Force, volumetric wear rate.}, month = {}, }
