  • Abstract:
  • This paper is represents the experimental investigation on surface roughness, microstructure, hardness of Al, and Al-Al2O3 (15% volume) composite. The effect of machining parameters such as depth of cut, feed rate, cutting speed was studied during turning operation. The response in this study such as forces (radial force, thrust force, feed force), surface roughness, tool life. The experiments are designed based on Taguchi [L9] orthogonal approach. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) has revealed the effect of influencing parameter on each response. Finally ANOVA revealed that presence of alumina in aluminium increase the surface roughness value, tool life as compare to the pure Al material.
