  • There are so many substitution techniques at present to implement steganography in spatial domain. With the benefits of ease in implementation and understanding, these methods are very much vulnerable to attacks. In this paper a technique has been proposed to overcome the various attacks on substitution technique. Genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal sequence of pixels for data hiding, the changes in bits (other than the bits used for data hiding) is done so as to minimize the changes in pixel values occurred due to bit replacement.
