  • Abstract:
  • Paralysis, caused by conditions like stroke or ALS, can severely limit communication. People with Locked-in Syndrome (LIS) are especially challenged, unable to move or speak but retaining mental awareness. They often rely on caregivers to interpret blinks, leaving them dependent for basic communication. Our software offers a path to independence. It uses a camera to detect eye blinks and translate them into text. Users control everything with their eyes, making it accessible on even basic computers. By leveraging computer vision and language modeling, the software can predict words and speed up communication. This empowers people with LIS and others with paralysis to express themselves freely.
