  • Abstract:
  • Road accidents in urban areas often lead to significant delays in emergency response due to the reliance on human reporting and the challenges of locating accident sites. This project proposes an IoT-based system for automated accident detection, aiming to enhance the speed and accuracy of accident reporting. The system utilizes limit switches placed on the front and rear of a vehicle to detect collisions. Upon detection, the system sends an immediate alert through a cloud-based platform to a mobile application. Additionally, it incorporates a DHT11 sensor to monitor surrounding temperature and humidity, along with a smoke sensor to detect potential fire hazards. This comprehensive approach ensures real-time notifications and provides critical environmental data, significantly improving emergency response times and situational awareness. The proposed system exemplifies how IoT technology can transform accident management, leading to faster, more effective interventions and ultimately saving lives.
