This study focuses on indigenous tribes in Coimbatore District, examining their forest-based activities, tribal affiliations, income usage, and livelihood challenges. It also evaluates government programmes aimed at enhancing their economic status. Data were collected through interviews and field surveys. The study concludes with actionable recommendations to improve the socioeconomic standing of indigenous women while respecting their reliance on forest resources and weekly market participation.
