  • Abstract:
  • The conclusion of the Cold War marked a pivotal turning point in global geopolitics, leading to the reshaping of international power structures. In South Asia, this shift had profound implications, particularly in the rise of terrorism and insurgencies. The collapse of the Soviet Union, the end of U.S.Soviet rivalry, and the emergence of unipolarity contributed to the region’s destabilization. This paper examines the socio-political, economic, and security dynamics that precipitated the rise of terrorism in South Asia post-Cold War. It explores the interplay of regional conflicts, state failure, and transnational networks in exacerbating terrorism in the region
