abstract = {The evolutionary roots of the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and its effect on mate selection and strategies is a fascinating field of study. This research intends to investigate how FOMO, driven by evolution, influences the choices individuals make in selecting partners. It suggests that FOMO cause individuals to overemphasize physical appearance of a partner and therefore such people can easily dismiss all other qualities that the partner may possess. Focusing on the behaviour and the decision- making regarding mate-selection and in the process of reproductions, this study evaluates the outcome of FOMO on relation psychological mechanisms and natural selection. The current study uses the following scales to measure FOMO, Fear of Missing Out Scale FoMos developed by Przybylski and Murayama (2013) and the others and the updated Sociosexual Orientation Inventory (SOI-R) developed by Penke and Asendorpf (2008). The target population of the participants will be people in the youth aged between 18 and 30 years. The results are expected to enhance our understanding of how FOMO, as a psychological trait evolved over time, influences preferences and strategies in mate selection, eventually affecting reproductive outcomes and social relationships.},
