  • Abstract:
  • The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 promotes a revolutionary method of education aimed at fostering creativity, critical thinking, and essential life skills through comprehensive and multidisciplinary learning practices. The influence of music, as a global and multifaceted art form, is vital in realizing this vision, especially for Gen Z learners who thrive in dynamic, tech-oriented, and interconnected settings. Music encompasses cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of learning, promoting abilities such as collaboration, empathy, and cultural understanding. When integrated into educational programs, music serves as a bridge for multidisciplinary learning, connecting areas like mathematics, science, language, and history through rhythm, sound, narrative, and cultural exploration. For Gen Z, who are digital natives, music production software, AI-driven music tools, and online performance platforms offer fresh, interactive, and engaging ways to learn. Moreover, music is recognized for enhancing mental health by assisting students in coping with stress and improving concentration, which is crucial in the post-pandemic context. This study explores the role of music within the educational framework in relation to the NEP 2020’s vision of experiential and inclusive learning. It explores effective methods like integrating music into lesson structures, cross-disciplinary initiatives, and partnerships with the creative sector to improve the educational atmosphere for Generation Z. Ultimately, the study concludes that music is not merely an artistic expression but a powerful educational resource that promotes comprehensive growth, equipping Gen Z to navigate the challenges of the rapidly changing world.
