  • Abstract:
  • The transformation of agriculture toward horticulture and short-duration crops has significantly enhanced income opportunities for small and marginal farmers. This study examines the economic impact of horticulture, floriculture, protected cultivation, and organic farming, along with technological interventions such as greenhouse systems, post-harvest management, and packaging innovations. The findings indicate that adoption of these practices leads to higher productivity, increased export earnings, improved shelf life, and better health outcomes for consumers. Case studies from India and global markets highlight scalable models for sustainable agricultural growth.
