  • Abstract:
  • This paper explores the concept of prosperity (Samruddhi) as presented in the Shree Sukta, a prayer from the Rigveda, highlighting its holistic and timeless relevance. It argues that prosperity in the Indian tradition extends beyond material wealth to include ethical values, emotional well-being, environmental consciousness, social responsibility, and spiritual growth. Through a detailed interpretation of well recited fifteen shlokas, the study shows that true prosperity integrates qualities such as humility, truthfulness, compassion, and dedication, alongside economic stability. The prayer emphasizes harmony between humans, nature, and the divine, advocating sustainable development and collective welfare over individualistic gain. It also critiques modern materialistic approaches that neglect inner peace and social balance. The paper demonstrates ancient wisdom with contemporary concerns like environmental degradation and social inequality and establishes the concept that the teachings of the Shree Sukta offer practical guidance for achieving balanced personal, societal, and global progress
