abstract = {Agricultural credit plays an important role in improving farm productivity and supporting rural development in India. To fulfil the financial needs of farmers, the GOI introduced the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, which provides adequate and timely credit for agricultural and allied activities. Although the scheme has expanded significantly over the years, but there is still unequal distribution of agricultural credit across different regions. The major causes of unequal distribution of kisan credit cards in Himachal Pradesh is geographical, infrastructural, and socio-economic differences. The study focuses on examining regional disparities in the distribution of KCCs across the distt of Himachal Pradesh. The analysis is based on district-wise data related to KCCs holders and outstanding credit amount for the financial year 2024-2025. The study is analytical and descriptive in nature and relies on secondary source of data collected from State level banker’s committee (SLBC) official banking and financial reports. Various statistical tools such as percentage analysis, comparative analysis and ranking techniques, have been used to examine district-level differences in KCC outreach and credit utilization. The result of the study indicates noticeable disparities among districts in both the number of KCC beneficiaries and the amount of outstanding credit. Districts such as Kangra, Mandi, and Shimla reported comparatively higher levels of credit distribution, reflecting better access to institutional agricultural finance. In contrast, geographically remote and tribal districts like Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur showed lower levels of coverage and credit accessibility. The study emphasizes the need for balanced agricultural credit distribution and stronger banking outreach in underserved regions to promote inclusive agricultural and rural development in Himachal Pradesh.},
