  • The world is facing a growing problem of waste management and sustainability, which has led to the need for innovative technologies to address this issue. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have emerged as promising technologies for waste management and sustainability. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the current state of use of AI and ML in waste management and sustainability. We discuss the potential applications of AI and ML in waste management, including smart waste sorting, predictive maintenance, route optimization, energy generation, and environmental monitoring. We also highlight the benefits of using AI and ML in waste management, such as increased efficiency, reduced waste, and a smaller carbon footprint. Additionally, we explore how AI and ML can be used to implement the principles of "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" to reduce waste and improve sustainability. We also discuss the challenges and limitations of using AI and ML in waste management, such as the high cost of implementation and the need for high-quality data. We also review the current research and development efforts in this field, including case studies and pilot projects. Overall, this paper provides a comprehensive review of the potential of AI and ML in waste management and sustainability.
