Abstract:
The IoT-Enabled Smart Dustbin is an advanced waste management solution designed for public spaces. Utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the system employs ultrasonic sensors and weight sensors to monitor waste levels, while GPS modules enable location tracking for efficient municipal waste collection. The system incorporates an automatic locking mechanism to prevent overflow, sealing the bin when a certain threshold is reached and sending overflow notifications to authorities. Additionally, the dustbin segregates waste into categories such as plastic, metal, and biodegradable using mechanical sorting mechanisms or infrared sensors. A mobile app provides real-time data on bin status and locations, aiding waste management. This IoT-enabled smart dustbin optimizes waste collection, enhances sustainability, and ensures efficient, eco-friendly public waste disposal.
