  • Abstract:
  • This paper examines the evolution of research exploring cultural variations in attitudes towards hearing loss and hearing aid use. It analyzes how cultural beliefs, social norms, and socioeconomic factors have shaped perceptions of hearing loss and the acceptance of hearing aid technology across diverse populations. A chronological analysis of key studies reveals a shift in focus, moving from documenting cultural differences to understanding the intricate interplay of factors influencing hearing aid adoption rates. The review concludes by discussing the implications of cultural variations for improving hearing healthcare practice, reducing stigma, and promoting health equity.
