  • Abstract:
  • Children are particularly vulnerable during natural disasters due to their limited understanding of the situation. Social institutions, such as schools and community centers, play a crucial role in providing emotional support to these young individuals. Trained professionals can listen to their fears and anxieties, validate their feelings, and guide them on how to cope with the aftermath of the disaster. This emotional assistance helps children process their experiences, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and regain stability and security in their lives. Additionally, social institutions can aid in the healing process by helping children rebuild resilience, restore a sense of normalcy, and connect them with necessary resources and support services. This article delves into the significance of emotional support provided by social institutions in the care of children amidst calamities.
