        abstract = {Urticaria, commonly known as hives or nettle rash, is a frequent cutaneous disorder characterized by the sudden appearance of transient wheals, usually associated with itching, burning or stinging, with or without angioedema. The individual wheal generally disappears within 24 hours without leaving a residual mark, although new lesions may continue to appear. Clinically, urticaria is classified according to its duration into acute urticaria, lasting up to six weeks, and chronic urticaria, persisting for more than six weeks. Chronic urticaria may further be categorized as spontaneous or inducible according to the presence of identifiable physical stimuli.  This article reviews urticaria presents extensive Materia-medica-based differential therapeutics in a descriptive form. Particular emphasis is placed on distinguishing closely related medicines according to the character of the eruption, sensations, modalities and associated complaints.},
