Using Routine Activities Theory, investigate the role of digital literacy—a measure of guardianship—in phishing detection and response in this study. The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) conducted a nationally representative survey that provided the study's data. Two conclusions are drawn from the analysis. First, respondents with greater digital literacy report receiving phishing emails more frequently but responding less to them. Second, a respondent's social standing is important, but primarily for phishing. According to these findings, phishing response and reception are significantly influenced by digital literacy.}, keywords = {Digital Literacy, Hacking, Routine Activities Theory.}, month = {}, }
