Abstract
The ongoing multinational outbreak of monkeypox in 2022 is the largest ever recorded outside of Africa. Monkeypox is an emerging zoonotic disease that has long been recognized as an infectious threat with significant epidemic potential due to the rising frequency of human outbreaks in recent years. As public health agencies strive to control the current outbreak, healthcare professionals are increasingly focused on understanding the diverse clinical presentations and management strategies for this infection. This review provides an overview of monkeypox for healthcare providers, informed by the ongoing global outbreaks.
