Telugu literature, with its deep historical roots and vibrant modern expressions, has increasingly been translated into English to reach a wider national and international readership. This paper examines the dynamic relationship between translation and transformation in the context of Telugu literature rendered into English. It argues that translation is not merely a linguistic transfer but a complex interpretative act that reshapes meaning, cultural nuances, and aesthetic qualities. Drawing upon scholarly studies from India, particularly contributions from Andhra Pradesh, the paper analyses how translators negotiate challenges such as culture-specific expressions, idiomatic language, poetic structures, and socio-cultural contexts. The study adopts a qualitative analytical approach based on secondary sources and comparative textual understanding. It highlights that while translation enhances accessibility and global recognition of Telugu literature, it may also lead to shifts in tone, cultural depth, and ideological perspectives. The findings suggest that translators function as cultural mediators whose choices significantly influence the reception of Telugu texts in English. The paper concludes that translation involves both preservation and transformation, requiring a careful balance between fidelity to the source text and adaptability to the target language. It underscores the need for culturally sensitive translation practices to maintain the authenticity and richness of Telugu literary traditions in the global literary space.},
