  • Abstract:
  • The rapid proliferation of digital payment systems has transformed the financial landscape, offering unprecedented opportunities for economic empowerment, particularly among women. This study investigates the perception and adoption of digital payment systems among women, focusing on how these technologies can enhance their financial inclusion and autonomy. Through a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, data were collected from a diverse sample of women across urban and rural settings. The findings reveal that while many women recognize the potential benefits of digital transactions—such as convenience, security, and access to financial services—barriers such as lack of digital literacy, cultural norms, and inadequate infrastructure persist. The study highlights the critical role of targeted interventions, including educational programs, policy reforms, and community engagement, in bridging these gaps and fostering widespread adoption. By empowering women through digital payments, societies can unlock significant social and economic dividends, contributing to gender equality and sustainable development. This research underscores the need for inclusive strategies that address the unique challenges faced by women in adopting digital financial tools.
